The Author

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

I love to read books. I’ve read on subjects from spiritual growth, personal development, marriage, children and the list goes on.

The snapshot of the books you see here are the ones currently on my nightstand.

Sometimes I will read a book until I completely finish. But mostly, I read from a different book every 2-3 days until I finish. I certainly like variety in my reading material!

There is a common theme in every book I read. They all have an author, they all have a beginning and they all have an ending.

I have many favorite authors. But my favorite author of them all is the Author and Finisher of our faith – Jesus Christ. He wrote the most beautiful book ever – His Word, the Bible. And it happens to be the world’s best-selling book.

The Lord is writing my story and He’s not done yet. There are times my story is filled with suspense, action and mystery and other times it’s filled with drama, romance and comedy!

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6

I once heard a story of a lady who picked up a book to read and quickly lost interest in it and set it on her bookshelf. Soon after, she met and fell in love with a handsome author.

When she found out he wrote the very book that she abandoned to her bookshelf, she immediately went home and read it until the end. She couldn’t get enough of the pages in the book.

What happened? She fell in love with the author of course!

I’m not sure if I’m relating the story the exact way it happened. But the point I want to make is this: when you fall in love with Jesus you will fall in love with His Book.

This is One Author I am totally and completely in love with!

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 5:9
