Somebody Prayed for Me

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 1 Timothy 2:1

It was choir practice night at the church. I really don’t have a singing voice but I enjoyed the fellowship and the music. During a break, the daughter of a dear friend came to talk to me. She was about seven years old at the time.

Somewhere during the conversation, I turned to her and half joking, I asked her to pray for me. Her response touched my heart.

She excitedly responded by saying, “I already did!” Then she proceeded to tell me that before coming to choir practice, she and the rest of her family had prayed for me.

I was totally not expecting an answer like that but I felt the love of our Heavenly Father through this beautiful child.

There have been numerous times in my life that others have prayed with me and for me. From family to friends, I have been prayed for even when I didn’t ask for it. I am ever so grateful for their time and prayers.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:18

And how assuring it is to know that even Jesus covered all of us in prayer (John 17).

I have prayed many prayers for others, some by request and others when an individual comes to mind or when I see them in need of it.

My husband once told me that when someone asks you for prayer, go ahead and pray with them right then and there if circumstances permit. Otherwise, you may get busy and forget to pray!

As I am about to finish writing this, I receive a text message asking for prayer. I’m going to go pray for this person now because…Somebody prayed for me!
