Oh So Divine!

God speaks to us in many ways and oftentimes He does so through His Word. It is amazing how He uses His Word at the precise moment you need Him.

Then the word of the Lord came unto me saying, Jeremiah 1:4

One of those moments came through a fierce battle of courage I was going to have to fight. I didn’t know initially it was going to be a battle, but God did and He prepared me for it through His Word in the book of Jeremiah.

This battle was going to include two individuals with decision making authority. It was going to involve confrontation, which like most people, I avoid as much as possible.

I was intimidated by these two individuals, one more than the other. God provided His assurance of His Divine call on my life at the beginning of this battle:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you… Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)

When I had to speak to each one of these individuals separately, God gave me the courage to speak because He was my Divine presence:

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 1:8

Once one of the meetings was over, I went off to a quiet place and cried my eyes out. The Lord let me fall apart at His feet and give Him the glory for that courage.

Although this confrontation took all my emotional energy, the battle wasn’t over. But God promised to be my Divine defense:

For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city… Jeremiah 1:18

I had one more interrogation to plead my cause and hear final the outcome. I vowed not to feel intimidation or breakdown and cry afterwards because God was there to be my Divine protection:

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. Jeremiah 1:19

It would take three long weeks for this battle to be won and victory declared. God gave me the courage I needed when I needed it because He is oh so Divine!
