Trust in God for Everything!

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 2 Samuel 22:31

A few years ago, I had to have surgery that kept me home from work for several weeks.

I was absolutely terrified of being put under with anesthesia for the procedure but I was left with no choice. I had to have the operation.

All the nurses, doctors and staff assured me that everything would be fine and that the doctor had done this type of surgery many times.

God’s Unchanging Hand

For I am the Lord, I change not…Malachi 3:6

I took my two young sons on a grocery trip to one of those big box stores. That was a big mistake. Or so I thought at the time.

My younger son was two years old and he was sitting in the front seat of the grocery cart. We rounded a corner and came head on with a huge display of stuffed animals.

As soon as my younger son saw what it was, he immediately snatched one before I could move away from the display. This was the first time that he had ever grabbed anything while at the store but somehow I sensed his urgency to have it.

Grace Taught Me Grace

Grace taught me grace

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 1:7

I wanted to die. I didn’t want to kill myself but I wanted to die. I was at the point that I was thinking if someone would just wreck into me on the road so that I could die, I would not be responsible for my death. Why did I want to die? I had failed. Again. I was supposed to know better. I lived for God after all and I proclaimed to love Him. But one wrong decision caused a lot of pain and almost unbearable consequences.

He’s an on Time God

Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Micah 7:7

I was working at a law firm earning a very good salary. The only drawback was that it was far from home. The commute was long and Houston traffic made it longer. I would leave early in the morning and come home late in the evening and didn’t get to spend much time with my children. After eighteen months of doing this I began to pray about a new job closer to home.

I Can Do What?

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

My children learned this scripture early on in life. It was my favorite response every time they would tell me “I can’t (fill in the blank).” God’s words finally sunk in because one day, my oldest son started to say “I can’t” when I asked him to do something and he realized immediately that my response would be “I can do what?” and he ended up quoting the scripture himself!

Worshipping through Words

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3

Jeremiah 33:3 was the foundation scripture of my new life as a Christian on a mission for spiritual growth. After Jesus saved me, and filled me with His Love and His Spirit, I was so hungry and anxious to know everything I could about Him. I have been living for Him and serving Him for 20+ years and the days just get sweeter and sweeter!
