Somebody Prayed for Me

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 1 Timothy 2:1

It was choir practice night at the church. I really don’t have a singing voice but I enjoyed the fellowship and the music. During a break, the daughter of a dear friend came to talk to me. She was about seven years old at the time.

Somewhere during the conversation, I turned to her and half joking, I asked her to pray for me. Her response touched my heart.

Someone to Cry With

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Romans 12:15

A lady in our church was standing at the altar crying so I went to her. I told her I didn’t know what to say to help her but that I would just cry with her.

She hugged and thanked me then told me that crying with her was all she needed me to do.

A few years later, I was visiting a close friend whose sister had passed away. We were talking when all of a sudden we heard the sound of children softly crying.

The Winter is Past

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new… Revelation 21:5

It was the first time I had ever heard the birds singing outside my bedroom window. Or maybe it was the first time I noticed. But that day was different.

It was early Easter morning and the birds, in their vibrant lovely song, seem to be rejoicing on this special day celebrated as the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My Wonderful Counselor

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Proverbs 15:22

I stood there dumbfounded. I had just been served with a lawsuit based on false accusations.

Thanks to a phone call the week before, I already knew it was coming and I thought I was prepared for it. But it still caught me off guard and literally took my breath away.

My heart was breaking into a million pieces and I felt the life drain from my entire body. What was I going to do now?

Bear One Another’s Burdens

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

My daughter was recently involved in a wreck. She wasn’t at fault and thankfully, she walked away with only some minor aches and pains.

I had just entered my office when she called to tell me the news. It was her first accident and she was terrified to say the least. I left work immediately but I was 25 minutes away from her and I felt so helpless.

Bold as a Lion

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

I was in the midst of hundreds of Spirit filled ladies at a weekend conference and the atmosphere was explosive. God was supplying miraculous answers to the hundreds of petitions being laid at His feet.

The service came to a conclusion and many lingered at the altar in the presence of the King. But when we finally left, our spirits were revived.

Be Still!

And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. I Kings 19:11-12

Decisions, decisions, decisions. I had a fast approaching deadline and I had to make a decision soon. I didn’t have a clue as to what choice I should make before that deadline.

I prayed and prayed for God to help me determine the best option but all I heard was silence. I prayed, I contemplated my options, and I prayed again, but nothing.
