Lucky or Blessed?

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.  Psalm 68:19

A coworker walked up to me and handed me a box. To my utter surprise and pleasure, I found a brand new pair of black pumps inside.

I hadn’t told anyone that I needed a new pair of shoes much less the color or style. My current pair were beginning to look shabby but I couldn’t afford to go out and buy a new pair just yet.

And here was God blessing me with something I had not even asked for! The shoes were just my style and exactly my size.

Over the years, the Lord has blessed me tremendously both with things I asked for and things I did not ask for.

I’ve gone to pay a bill only to find there was no record of it. I have received checks in the mail that I was not expecting yet they always arrived just when I needed the funds.

And I cannot forget how the Lord has blessed me with His love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, peace, strength in my weakness, emotional and physical healing and so much more.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Ephesians 1:3

Jesus has fought battles on my behalf. He’s made a way out of no way when I was faced with impossibilities in my life.

There have been many occasions where God literally showered me with blessings as He said He would in Ezekiel 34:26:

And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

How has God blessed you? Once you start counting the ways, you will find that you are not lucky, you are blessed by all of His benefits!

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psalm 103:2
